Data & Lead Scraping Tool · Publisher: TechBiz Security · Last updated: 12 June 2026
storage.local API. No analytics, no tracking, no sign-up required.
What the extension accesses
- The page you are viewing. When you click Scan / Scrape, LeadForge reads the already-rendered, publicly visible HTML of the active tab to detect and extract business fields (name, phone, email, website, address, category, ratings, and similar publicly shown details).
- Optional auto-scroll. To load lazy/infinite content (e.g. map results), LeadForge can scroll the page at human speed. It only scrolls and reads the page — it does not issue background network requests, forge traffic, solve captchas, or bypass any anti-bot, login, or paywall protection.
What is stored, and where
All of the following live exclusively in chrome.storage.local on your device:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Extracted rows / current draft | Preview and export your results |
| Session history (last ~50) | Re-open and re-export past scrapes |
| Settings | Your preferences (floating button, polite mode, session cap) |
| Optional account name/email | Reserved for future sync; never transmitted today |
| Optional license key | Reserved for future Pro features; validated locally only |
| Optional site connections | Convenience credential notes you choose to save, on-device only |
You can delete any session from History, clear the working table, or remove saved connections at any time. Uninstalling the extension removes all of it.
What is NOT collected
- No browsing history, no keystroke logging, no page content beyond what you explicitly scan.
- No telemetry, no analytics, no advertising identifiers.
- No transmission of extracted data off your device.
Permissions justification
LeadForge requests the minimum permissions and uses no broad host permissions and no persistent content scripts:
storage— save sessions, settings, and drafts locally on your device.activeTab— temporary access to only the tab you are on, and only when you click the LeadForge icon/shortcut.scripting— inject the extractor into that active tab on demand when you scan.
There is no tabs permission and no <all_urls> host permission. The extension cannot run on any page on its own — extraction happens only on your explicit click, on the single tab you are viewing.
Responsible use
You are responsible for complying with the terms of service and applicable laws of the websites you scan, and for how you use exported data (including anti-spam and data-protection regulations such as GDPR/CCPA where relevant). LeadForge only surfaces information that is already publicly visible to you in your browser.
